There are always opportunities to help with short-term projects or serve on committees or task groups. NSLHA is always looking for members representing diverse experiences, perspectives and interests to share their expertise, experiences and ideas. • Videotaping a brief segment about a speech-language or hearing
  • Sharing ideas for professional development and continuing education topics
  • Recruiting speakers for education programs
  • Introducing speakers at conferences
  • Helping at NSLHA's Fall Convention (contact the NSLHA office for a detailed list)
  • Sponsoring a speaker or providing a sponsorship for an event

  • Mentoring a student or new graduate
  • Reaching out to prospective members and inviting them to participate in NSLHA events
  • Presenting a webinar or convention education session for NSLHA
  • Being featured in NSLHA's Spotlight section of the website
  • Writing or suggesting content or resources for the website
  • Participating in NSLHA Connects (NSLHA Facebook group) where you can ask questions, participate in thought-provoking conversations, share ideas and best practices, and post resources and information with fellow members
  • Testifying on behalf of NSLHA at state legislative committee hearings, as those needs arise
  • Developing and maintaining connections with your state senator
  • Writing letters, sending emails and/or making phone calls to your state senator regarding specific speech language and hearing related issues
  • Volunteering for a state senator candidate’s campaign
  • Meeting with your state senator during NSLHA's Lunch with a Legislator

  • Hosting a visit by your state senator or any of Nebraska’s national lawmakers at your school or clinic and with patients to gain a better understanding of the value and benefits of speech-language and hearing services provided
  • Representing NSLHA at an allied organization’s meeting or event

Submit a volunteer interest form to the NSLHA office. A NSLHA volunteer leader or staff will be in contact with you. Thank you for serving your profession and the association.
