Webinar Purpose: Aphasia is a language disorder that affects all modalities of communication including reading, writing, speaking and understanding of language. Many people with aphasia rely on AAC strategies and systems for functional communication. Additionally, some people with aphasia may experience social isolation and shirking social networks due to their communication disorder. This presentation will briefly review, the participation model, AAC assessment practices and assessment tools. Next the presenter will demonstrate the use of a variety of apps and use of software built-in accessories and accessibility features on mobile devices. Lastly a review of how to use social media platforms, games to maintain social networks for individuals with aphasia.

1. Attendees identified purpose of AAC assessment and resources for AAC assessment.
2. Attendees identified a variety of apps to support social communication in individuals with aphasia.
3. Attendees identified a variety of apps to use to maintain/make social connections for individuals with aphasia.
