Become a member or renew your NSLHA membership. NSLHA's membership year is September 1 - August 31.

Note: If you join for the first time during the third or fourth quarter of the fiscal year, your dues are pro-rated. If you complete the paper version of the membership application, calculate your pro-rated dues amount by taking the total amount of dues and dividing it by 12. The remaining number of months left in the current fiscal year is your dues amount. If you join online during the third quarter or fourth quarter, the pro-rated dues amount is automatically calculated for you.

NSLHA membership allows all of us to be a collective voice in impacting and influencing public policy and regulations at the state and federal levels. Through NSLHA, we can continue to enhance our skills as audiologists or speech-language pathologists through education opportunities, NSLHA Connects (our member only Facebook group), through our Facebook page, and by connecting at regional events. We can also share our clinical specialty with fellow members, to help all of us grow professionally. All of these membership benefits help us to make new friends and contacts to support one another in our profession.

NSLHA Membership Categories

When completing a NSLHA membership renewal form or application, please reference these membership definitions when selecting your membership type and dues amount:

Lifetime Members
Must have: 1) attained the age of sixty (60), and (2) held membership in NSLHA for the 10 consecutive years immediately prior to attaining age sixty.

Full Members
Must hold: 1) a graduate degree with major emphasis in speech-language pathology, audiology, or speech and hearing science; or 2) a graduate degree and present evidence of active research, interest, and performance in the field of human communication (LC 14-2000). Members must agree to abide by the Code of Ethics of the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association (ASHA).

Associate Members
Must: 1) hold a Bachelor’s degree with major emphasis in speech-language pathology, audiology, or speech and hearing science; and (2) must have not attained full member status.

First-Year Professional Members
Must: 1) have earned a degree in a speech-language pathology or audiology within the past 12 months and 2) have been a NSLHA student member. At the completion of the 12 months, a First-Year Professional is transferred to a Full Member and must pay Full Member dues in order to maintain that membership status.

Student Members
Must be enrolled in a degree program with major emphasis in speech-language pathology, audiology, or speech and hearing science at the graduate or undergraduate level.

News & Announcements

  • The Fall Convention brings together audiologists, speech-language pathologists and students from around the state who are looking for the best products and services available for their schools, hospitals, universities and private practices. Sponsorships help enhance the visibility and recognition of your company or organization while supporting the speech-language-hearing profession. Exhibitors also have the opportunity to offer continuing education at their booths.

  • Receive a summary of the current issues that have been discussed with the individual Heritage Health Plans (Medicaid managed care), as well as general Medicaid updates. Legislative efforts for 2017 will also be reviewed. Time will be provided for audience members to present their issues and questions about Nebraska's implementation of Medicaid managed Care and share their stories/problems.

  • The Nebraska Speech-Language-Hearing Endowment Fund (NSHLEF) is offering two $1,000 scholarships. Apply by June 30th.

  • Participate in Fluency Enhancing Tactile Speech for Those Who Stutter Study

    The Wheat Lab at The University of Mississippi is researching the use of a smartphone app that provides fluency enhancing tactile speech for those who stutter. During this clinical trial, we are providing a free app for either iOS or Android, such that we can measure the effects of pulsating tactile vibrations on stuttering frequency. This is an open clinical trial, and we can accept English speaking participants from all over the country; During these weekly sessions over video conference, participants will be asked to share with us their experiences with the app, as well as provide some speech samples.   • looking for currently practicing speech‐language pathologists who routinely assess cognitive skills to complete this 15-20 minute online survey. Results from this study will help researchers understand current cognitive assessment practices, define strengths and weaknesses of available assessments, and determine next steps for future assessment creation.
